March 25 was a great day for trash recovery in Purcellville, Virginia! Pack Rat Hauling volunteered to participate in the town-wide clean up that day.
I saw the article in the Purcellville Gazette highlighting this event and knew I wanted to help. More than 300 volunteers were part of this clean-up, the most ever for this event. Church groups, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and western Loudoun citizens all got together to make this a great event for the town.
All of this was organized through collaborative effort of the Town of Purcellville and Keep Loudoun Beautiful. Volunteers picked up along roadsides and trails.
Pack Rat Hauling collected all the trash gathered by the volunteers. We were also able to do some trash recycling, separating out many items to take for recycling rather than for disposal in a landfill. We also separated and disposed of tires.
A total of 275 bags were collected. That’s 1.5 tons of waste picked up off the ground along the streets of Purcellville!
